An Update

I guess it took a sick day to force me into writing a blog post finally! Life has been pretty crazy for us Thorntons lately, but we are getting settled.

We moved into a new apartment. I would post pictures but it's kind of scary right now and trust me, it's nothing you'd want to put on pinterest.

We were sad to leave our old place, but we came up on the list for Married Student Housing, so we decided to take the offer and make a change! We love our neighbors and it's nice to be so close to campus. Even though I am done with school, Sam is still going strong.

Christmas and New Year's was great! It was our first as a married couple. That meant a lot of figuring out how to split our time between our families and creating new traditions.

The year 2012 was a crazy year for us. I graduated and got a job, Sam and I got married, and we've already moved twice! (I moved three times this year!)

I know I still haven't posted wedding pictures yet, but I promise one day I will. We got more than one thousand pictures, I kid you not. It's a lot to sort through.

Well, that's a little update! I'm hoping to start feeling better by tomorrow because tomorrow I am turning 22 years old. But whatever.

83 Muffins

I haven't blog recently because Sam's computer has been broken, so he has to use mine to do homework. And homework is more important than blogging. Sorry.

And then I had the infection from Mordor. It was so terrible and lasted a week. I am so sick of cranberry juice now. I'll leave it at that.

BUT!

I have to tell you all about the time I made 83 muffins. This really happened, a few weeks ago. I know you're asking why. Sometimes unexplained things occur, and you just have to accept them.

There are some hypotheses concerning this incident.

There were like five parties in one weekend that I had to bring things to.

It's fall.

These muffins are delicious. This recipe is fantastic.

Making muffins is relaxing and fun. Why stop.

I'd rather be a comma, then a full stop

Tonight, after I said a witty comment, someone told me that I should have a blog.

And I was all, "I do! And I post my muffin recipes there."

Then I felt bad because I lately that is all I have ever done, so sorry. I'm going to talk about interesting things now.

Like how my tonsils got all huge and gross and I couldn't breathe or swallow, and so I had to go to the doctor. But not the doctor in Salt Lake, the doctor in freakin' Odgen because the clinic I go to here was randomly closed for staff training.

But whatev's. I got to meet my mom and she brought me egg drop soop [sic, I think it's better that way].

I did not get caught up on NaNoWriMo... not yet anyway. I want to! I have lots to write and I don't always have motivation, but I force myself and then words happen, so ya. I'm still too concise for my own good. I still let my readers fill in the blanks too often. But one thing I took from my acting class is this: you have to know everything, even if you don't use everything. So in the final product will I take out unnecessary things? Sure, but for now they're there so I'm forced to think about them.

OK, that's a lot of meta data.

I'm really tired and I'm still sick, so I'm going to bed, mmmk? Thanks.

More Mexico!

I miss Mexico! And my cruise ship. The Oosterdam...

Photobucket

So here are some more pictures!

It was really important to me that someone take a picture of me as I took my first steps off of U.S. soil. I had this expectation that I would have a grand, glamorous photograph of my first disembarkment. Um ... this is what happened:
Photobucket

Compare to:

Photobucket
Lindsey and Austin. Movie stars.

Photobucket
Adriana. Movie stars.
Photobucket
More proof that I actually left the country.

Photobucket

Austin, my cousin, just turned 18! I loved cruising with not only my immediate family, but my cousins and my grandparents.

Photobucket

At sea, we played lots of games, and ate lots of food.

Photobucket

See my darling prima, Isabell? I did her hair. Yes, I did. I'm so proud of myself. She's so adorable!

Photobucket
Isabell and Adriana swam a lot. I didn't because 1) I got sunburned and 2) the pool was too cold. Too cold even for Mexico.

Photobucket

Dolphin! I swam with one named Tonko. It was pretty special.

In other news:

I feel so sick.

Over the past few days I've had a cough and sneezes. Now I feel sick to my stomach. I just feel really weird. I can still function, although sleep has becoming something which I avoid because it is so unpleasant. Every time I drive I get motion sickness. I never get motion sick. My body is really messed up.

Finals are right around the corner. I think they'll be fine.

I'm helping out with the University of Utah's endangered language conference. It's going to be sweet.

Life: A prime example of reality

No.

I left my notebook in the choir room. It has my name on it, but still... No. No. No NaNoWriMo words today. I'm so far behind.

Today had so many ups and downs.

I found out that one of my friends from high school died on Tuesday. That actually didn't make me as sad as I thought it would though. Don't get me wrong, I still feel sad that he's gone, but he was sick for a long time and was in a lot of pain.

Heavenly Father loves us. We are his children and I'm thankful to know of his gospel.

Good night.

I am happy, even if my stomach isn't.

Ugh.

I'm so sick of sandwiches. So I give in and pay for Chinese food.

Which is good until an hour after you've eaten it.

Ugh.

Turns out, half-way across the world my best friend is also sick to his stomach. But his illness is much worse than mine. He has thrown up several times, but luckily it was on a P-day, right? Poor Elder Hill.

Oh how I dislike Mondays. It's cliche but oh so true. The days and weeks are long. But I have strength to do this! I do, I do, I do!

I want to go to Fiji but I can't. I'm still going to be happy as happy can be.

Isn't this a cute poster? I want it.
