I guess it took a sick day to force me into writing a blog post finally! Life has been pretty crazy for us Thorntons lately, but we are getting settled.
We moved into a new apartment. I would post pictures but it's kind of scary right now and trust me, it's nothing you'd want to put on pinterest.
We were sad to leave our old place, but we came up on the list for Married Student Housing, so we decided to take the offer and make a change! We love our neighbors and it's nice to be so close to campus. Even though I am done with school, Sam is still going strong.
Christmas and New Year's was great! It was our first as a married couple. That meant a lot of figuring out how to split our time between our families and creating new traditions.
The year 2012 was a crazy year for us. I graduated and got a job, Sam and I got married, and we've already moved twice! (I moved three times this year!)
I know I still haven't posted wedding pictures yet, but I promise one day I will. We got more than one thousand pictures, I kid you not. It's a lot to sort through.
Well, that's a little update! I'm hoping to start feeling better by tomorrow because tomorrow I am turning 22 years old. But whatever.

21
Today, I would appreciate it if you would do something for me. Donate to your favorite charity, do your homework, smile at strangers, go the extra mile, protect free speech, floss, visit a nursing home, don't swear, wash your hands, refill someone's meter, write a thank you note, take a bubble bath, give up your seat on the bus, eat some chocolate, stay calm in traffic, use good grammar, adopt a puppy or a kitty from the shelter, listen to some country music, write a poem, draw a picture, quote a Disney movie, pick up a copy of The Daily Utah Chronicle, read your scriptures, do some yoga, dance in the kitchen, make your bed, call an old friend, tell a joke, listen thoughtfully, or visit your local library.
Because did I mention it's my birthday?

I challenge you do do any of those things, (or any other wonderful acts you can dream of) and tell me about them!

Happy Birthday, Dad
(Thanks to Steve Petty, my dad's best friend growing up, for this pictures. We sure got a kick out of them.)
Today my dad turned 50! He opened 50 presents and the biggest one was a trip to Hawaii to see molten lava. He's always wanted to go see that.
Here's the poem I wrote for my dad for one of his presents:
If my father had been told
upon my birth that he was to have all daughters,
he would have asked to see it in writing.
Because my father is polite as a pocket-knife--
a one match fire,
no whip cream,
Shakespeare from the pulpit
kind of guy.
He uses Tabasco sauce like he uses jokes--
in everything, almost to make life less clam-chowder white.
A tome in one hand
and a sling shot in the other,
he adventures through the universe.
Even untraveled roads are familiar to my father,
and although the same cannot be said of me,
I know how to work a compass
because he taught me how.
Other notable things happening around "The House:"
So I have more Chrony stories, but those will come tomorrow.
upon my birth that he was to have all daughters,
he would have asked to see it in writing.
Because my father is polite as a pocket-knife--
a one match fire,
no whip cream,
Shakespeare from the pulpit
kind of guy.
He uses Tabasco sauce like he uses jokes--
in everything, almost to make life less clam-chowder white.
A tome in one hand
and a sling shot in the other,
he adventures through the universe.
Even untraveled roads are familiar to my father,
and although the same cannot be said of me,
I know how to work a compass
because he taught me how.

Happy Birthday, Lindsey!
Lindsey is 18 today!
This is the card I made for her.
Because she wears lots of hats, and does lots of things.
This weekend she had prom. She was lovely.

p.s. More Mexico pictures are coming...

My birthday
Wednesday, June 30, 2010
Adriana!
My littlest sister turned 14 yesterday, but she was a girls' camp, so we celebrated today.
She's a doll! I love her. She looks just like me, too.
Happy Birthday sis!
Princess coloring book. Fourteen is NOT too old to have a princess coloring book. She also got a pocket knife, a (new) guinea pig, and jewelry.
She's opening my gift. I gave her a cornucopia of surprise. Weird, I know. But she appreciated the randomness. I also gave her a cupcake from Sweet Tooth Fairy bakery.
After a nauseating train ride home and a humiliating experience at the post office (I was never taught how to send a package, okay?), it was so lovely to be home with my family. Scrap-booking, eating chocolate satin pie, and watching The Princess and the Frog ... so awesome! Tomorrow it's running with my madre, Eclipse (I just threw up a little in my mouth, but I'm trying to have a good attitude), and prom dress shopping! Homework is somehow going to be in there, fear not.
